Portuguese Sea Scout leader Genuíno Madruga, from the Azores, is undertaking his second solo world trip in his boat, named 'Hemingway'

Portuguese Sea Scout leader Genuíno Madruga, from the Azores, is undertaking his second solo world trip, this time in honour of marking the Centenary of Scouting, in his boat, named 'Hemingway'. He has been supported by local Scouts (Açores Escutismo) especially in the preparatory phases of the voyage and will promote exchanges between CNE Açores and other Scout groups at ports along the way.

Genuíno has already arrived in Florianópolis, Brazil, and was received by the Ilhas Guará” Sea Scouts Group for a special reception. His planned route will has already taken him onwards to Uruguay and Argentina and from now on to Cape Horn (Chile), The Easter Islands, Polynesia, Samoa, Fiji, Australia, Indonesia, Mauritius, Madagascar, South Africa and back to the Azores.
